What Enterprise eLearning Actually Covers

Enterprise eLearning is the full production pipeline behind your company's training program: instructional design, course development, media and voiceover, accessibility QA, and LMS packaging - all that's applied across a curriculum.

It’s the scale that matters. A program is actually a system including a shared design language, consistent assessment logic, localization pipeline, and governance for what happens when policy changes in month 9, let’s say.

We deliver every format that your enterprise training program needs:

Custom Course Development

Full builds from your existing content, SCORM-ready in 5-7 weeks. Custom eLearning development

ILT to eLearning Conversion

Classroom decks, facilitator guides, and webinar recordings that we can turn into self-paced modules. ILT conversion

Microlearning

Short, mobile-first modules that are great for reinforcement and in-the-flow-of-work training. Microlearning

Scenario-Based Learning and Simulations

Branching decisions and software sims for high-stakes or system training. Scenario-based eLearning

Localization and Translation

35+ languages, and re-tested in every eLearning build. Localization and translation

Legacy and Accessibility Remediation

Flash rebuilds and WCAG 2.1 AA conformance for courses you already own. Legacy content conversion

Build vs. Buy vs. Partner

There are four approaches for enterprise training content, and 3 of them are right some of the time. Before you evaluate and hire eLearning vendors, it's worth being honest about which model your situation actually calls for.

In-House Team Large Agency Off-the-Shelf Library eLearning Solutions Lab
Upfront cost Salary, tooling, and ramp time before course one ships High, usually quoted per finished hour then scoped and change-ordered Low entry, ongoing per-seat licensing Fixed per course, quoted before work starts
Time to first course Months – hire, onboard, and tool up first Weeks of contracting and discovery before the build begins Immediate – already built 5-7 weeks from content handoff
Source files You own everything Often withheld or billed as a separate deliverable None – you license access Included – every Storyline .story file and Rise link
Scalability Capped by headcount High, at proportional cost Unlimited breadth, zero specificity Parallel build tracks on a shared design system
Control over updates Total, if capacity is free Depends on retainer and file ownership You wait for the vendor’s release schedule You hold the files, so you are never locked in
Right call when Content changes constantly and volume is high and permanent Multi-million program with agency-of-record requirements Generic topics you don’t need to own A defined program of 4 to 20 courses your team can’t absorb
Many enterprise L&D teams run a hybrid – internal subject matter ownership, external production capacity.

An in-house eLearning team genuinely wins in one scenario, and it’s a common one: proprietary content that changes monthly, and at sustained high volume. So if you’re shipping two courses a month on systems and policies that will shift constantly, the per-course economics will stop favoring any vendor. Build the team.

Off-the-shelf libraries can win on generic topics. Nobody should actually pay for a custom harassment prevention course unless your program has some company-specific policy in it.

We’re the right fit for the middle: a defined program, a finite backlog, and an L&D team that has the expertise but not the bandwidth. That’s most enterprise teams, most of the time – but not all of them.

Program Pricing

What Drives the Cost of an Enterprise Course

Our three tiers already map to these variables, so you see the price before scoping rather than after. These are the five things that move a course from one tier to the next.

Seat Time

How long the finished course runs for the learner. Our published prices cover 30 to 60 minutes per course. Longer programmes are split into modules rather than priced as one build.

Level of Interactivity

The single biggest cost driver. Click-to-reveal and scored quizzes sit at the Rapid tier. Branching scenarios with consequences sit at Professional. Adaptive branching and software or process simulation sit at Enterprise.

Multimedia Requirements

Stock and on-brand graphics are included at every tier. Custom animation, motion graphics, a named on-screen facilitator, and human rather than AI voiceover all move the build up a tier.

Source Content Readiness

A finished script costs less to build from than a folder of manuals and a recorded webinar. We work from raw material either way - but heavy curation and SME chasing adds time to the Discovery stage.

Localisation

Each additional language is quoted separately and covers on-screen text, audio script, narration, proofing, and a fresh round of LMS testing. Build the English master first, then localise from the signed-off source.

How Enterprise Delivery Works at Scale

When you run 12 courses through a single course process, that's how most programs slip. The economics and timeline will both change once you start building a curriculum, and so does what we really ask of your team. Here's what actually happens.

Course one builds the system. Courses two through twelve inherit it.

The first eLearning build in your program does double duty here. Alongside the course itself, we can produce a design system: template layouts, interaction patterns, assessment logic, voice and tone rules, accessibility conventions, and your brand will be applied across every component.

Every subsequent course draws from it – and that’s why course five, to cite an example, doesn’t take as long as course one, and why an eLearning program stays visually consistent when 3 developers are working in parallel, and why a policy change in year two is just a template edit.

For any larger engagements that are quoted as a one-time blueprint setup, it’s one of the single highest leverage spends in an enterprise training program.

Courses build simultaneously, not sequentially.

Once the blueprint exists, eLearning builds run in parallel tracks instead of being part of a queue. So for instance, a six-course library doesn’t take 6 times as long as one course: it takes roughly twice as long given the design, development, and QA phases overlap across the program.

One named project manager owns the whole program, so you get a single point of contact, one status cadence, and one escalation path – not a new kickoff every time a course starts.

Your subject-matter experts review in batches.

One of the hidden costs of an enterprise training program is your own people’s calendars. Reviewing these courses one at a time can pull the same SMEs into 15 separate cycles over just 8 months.

We batch instead: reviews are actually grouped so an SME just sits down 2 to 3 times for a program. Then, each course still gets 2 structured checkpoints: they’re just scheduled against a program.

You can expect roughly 4 to 6 hours of SME time per course across the entire engagement. And knowing that number upfront makes your internal business case work.

What a six-course program actually looks like

Phase Weeks What Happens
Discovery and blueprint 1-3 Objectives, audience, content audit, and the design system all courses will inherit
First build 3-8 Course one built and approved, and the system is locked for the rest of the program
Parallel tracks 6-14 Courses two through six run in overlapping build cycles with batched SME reviews
Localisation 10-16 Language builds from the signed-off master, if in scope, each re-tested on the LMS
Launch and LMS testing 14-16 Packaging, upload testing on your platform, and handover of every editable source file
A six-course program typically runs 14 to 18 weeks end to end. The variable is almost always content availability and approval speed on your side, not build capacity on ours.

When Custom eLearning Is the Wrong Answer

Every vendor you are about to shortlist says yes to everything. That isn't helpful to you, and it's how budgets get spent on courses nobody needed. Five situations where we would tell you not to build.

The content changes monthly

A course built around a policy or system that shifts every few weeks will be out of date before rollout finishes. Use a living document or a short recorded update instead, then build the course once the content stabilises.

There's no defined performance gap

"People should know about X" isn't an objective. If you can't name what someone does differently on Monday, the course will measure completions and nothing else. Start with consulting and a needs analysis, not a build.

The topic is genuinely generic

Basic soft skills, general security awareness, or standard harassment prevention with no company-specific policy layer - an off-the-shelf library covers these for a fraction of the cost.

You don't have an LMS yet

A SCORM package needs somewhere to live and something to report into. Sort the platform first, or you'll have courses you can't deploy, track, or prove completion on.

It isn't actually a training problem

If people know what to do and don't do it, the cause is usually process, tooling, incentives, or management. Training won't fix any of those, and a course is an expensive way to avoid a harder conversation.

Procurement, Security, and Standards

Enterprise deals stall in procurement and security review far more often than they stall on creative. These are the standards we build and test against, and the commercial terms we put in writing.

Technical standards your LMS and IT team will ask about

• SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 – the widely supported packaging standard, so courses load, track completion, and report scores in virtually any LMS

• xAPI (Tin Can) – richer tracking including activity beyond the LMS, stored in a Learning Record Store

• cmi5 – brings xAPI flexibility into a structured LMS launch, where your platform supports it

• AICC – legacy support for older enterprise systems that still require it

• HTML5, fully responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile

• WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 – keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, colour contrast, and captions, tested with NVDA, VoiceOver, axe, and WAVE

• A VPAT-style accessibility conformance summary available on request for compliance-sensitive programs

Commercial and data terms your procurement team will ask about

• Fixed-price contracting per course, with the program total agreed before work starts – no hourly billing and no change-order invoices for work inside the approved storyboard

• You own the IP and every editable source file on handover, so there is no vendor lock-in on future updates

• NDAs and master service agreements signed before content is shared

• Privacy-aware data handling, built so learner-data collection aligns with policies like GDPR

• Named project manager and documented escalation path for the full program

• Learner data stays in your LMS – we build the course, we do not host your learners or store their records

• Our production team and any specialist contributors are disclosed at scoping, so you know who touches your content

Global and Multi-Region Rollout

Most vendors assert a language count and leave it there. Here is what actually happens when a program has to land in more than one region.

Translation is not localisation

Translation swaps the words. Localisation adapts the examples, names, scenarios, units, and regulatory references so the course reads as though it was written in that market. Compliance content in particular breaks when only the words are translated, because the rules being taught differ by region.

AI or human voiceover, per language

AI narration in 35+ languages keeps cost and turnaround down across a wide rollout. Human voice talent is available on any tier and is usually worth it for customer-facing or leadership content. You can mix both within one program - AI for the long tail, human for the flagship courses.

Every language is re-tested

Text expansion breaks layouts, right-to-left scripts break navigation, and character sets break fonts. Each language build goes through a fresh round of layout, interaction, and LMS testing rather than being shipped on the assumption the English master already passed.

Sequence the master first

Localise from a signed-off English master, never from a draft. Changing a scenario after eight languages are built means paying for the change nine times. This single sequencing decision saves more budget on a global rollout than any other choice you will make.

How We Measure Whether the Program Worked

Completion rates tell you the program was consumed. We design measurement in from the storyboard stage so you can answer the question your leadership actually asks: did anything change?

Reaction

Kirkpatrick Level 1. Built into every course as standard - end-of-module reaction surveys and confidence ratings that tell you whether learners found the training relevant.

Learning

Kirkpatrick Level 2. Built into every course as standard - scored assessments written against your objectives, with distractors based on real misconceptions rather than filler options.

Behaviour

Kirkpatrick Level 3. Designed on request - xAPI and cmi5 statements capture what learners do inside scenarios and simulations, giving you behavioural data your LMS completion report can't.

Business Results

Kirkpatrick Level 4. Designed on request - we agree the business metric during discovery (error rates, time-to-competency, adoption, safety incidents) so results can be tracked against it after rollout.

Across a program rather than a single course, the value of this compounds. A shared assessment framework means scores are comparable between courses, so you can see which parts of the curriculum are actually moving competency and which are not – and reinvest accordingly.

What You Get in Writing

Most eLearning vendors ask you to take the quality on trust. These are the commitments we put in writing on every program.

Fixed Price, Fixed Timeline

You see the program price before you commit. No hourly billing, no scope-change invoices for work inside the agreed storyboard.

You Own the Source Files

Editable Storyline and Rise source files are handed over on completion, for every course. You are never locked into us for future updates.

10% Free Updates for 3 Months

Minor updates requested within three months of rollout - up to 10% of the course - are completed at no charge. Ongoing maintenance runs $500 to $1,000.

Storyboard Sign-Off Before Build

Nothing enters production until you approve the storyboard. You audit flow, tone, and interactions while changes are still cheap to make.

Tested on Your LMS

We QA every interaction, score, and tracking call on your own platform across browsers and devices - not just ours - before release.

WCAG 2.1 AA From Day One

Accessibility is designed in, not retrofitted - keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, colour contrast, and captions on all media.

See the Quality First - Request a Sample Module

Send us a slide deck, a policy document, or a webinar recording. We'll build a short sample module from your own content so you can judge the quality before you commit to a full program.

Who Works on Your Program

An enterprise program is never one person start to finish. Here's who you get, and what each role is accountable for across the whole engagement.

Learning Advisor

Your first point of contact. Runs discovery, frames the performance gap across the curriculum, and recommends the right tier for each course before any scope is locked.

Instructional Designer

Writes the learning objectives, structures the content, designs the scenarios and assessments, and produces the storyboards you sign off on - working to one consistent framework across the program.

eLearning Developer

Builds each course in the authoring tool - interactions, branching logic, variables, tracking, and SCORM or xAPI packaging - reusing the program design system so builds accelerate as the program runs.

Multimedia and Visual Designer

Produces on-brand visuals, animation, motion graphics, avatar video, and voiceover - so every course in the program looks like it came from your organisation, not from three different vendors.

QA and LMS Specialist

Tests every interaction, every score, and every tracking call on your actual LMS - across browsers, devices, and every localised language build - before anything is released to learners.

Project Manager

Owns the program timeline, batches and chases SME reviews, manages scope, and gives you one person to call for the entire engagement. The same team stays on your account across projects.

Enterprise eLearning Solutions FAQs

The questions enterprise L&D teams ask us before signing off a multi-course program.

Program Scope and Cost

Programs are priced from the same published per-course rates as single builds: Rapid Build $2,999, Professional Build $4,500, and Enterprise Build $7,500, each covering 30 to 60 minutes of seat time. A six-course compliance library at the Rapid tier is $17,994, and an eight-course onboarding curriculum at the Professional tier is $36,000. Localisation into additional languages and the one-time blueprint or design-system setup for larger engagements are quoted separately, and your proposal confirms the final figure before anything is built.

No. We build single courses and full curricula, and plenty of enterprise relationships start with one course so you can judge the quality before committing further. The program pricing and blueprint approach described on this page start to pay for themselves at around four courses.

A single course is 5 to 7 weeks. A six-course program typically runs 14 to 18 weeks end to end, because builds run in parallel tracks once the design system is locked rather than one after another. The main variable is content availability and approval speed on your side, not build capacity on ours.

Roughly 4 to 6 hours per course across the whole engagement. We batch reviews across the program so a subject matter expert sits down two or three times in total rather than two or three times per course. Each course still gets two structured review checkpoints – they are just scheduled against the program calendar.

If you are shipping roughly two courses a month on content that changes constantly, build the team – the per-course economics stop favouring any vendor at that volume. Outsourcing makes more sense when you have a defined, finite backlog, tight timelines, or specialist needs like simulation and localisation. Many enterprises run a hybrid: internal subject matter ownership, external production capacity.

Ownership, Procurement, and Security

You do. Every editable source file – the Rise 360 links and every Storyline .story file – is handed over on completion, along with the media assets. You can update, rebuild, or move to another vendor without asking us for anything. There is no lock-in and no separate charge for release of your own files.

NDAs and master service agreements are signed before any content changes hands. We contract on fixed price per course with the program total agreed upfront, which usually simplifies procurement because there is no hourly rate card to negotiate. Learner data stays in your LMS – we build and package the course, we do not host your learners or store their records. Our production team and any specialist contributors are disclosed at scoping.

Yes. Every course is built to WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 as standard, tested with NVDA, VoiceOver, axe, and WAVE. A VPAT-style accessibility conformance summary is available on request, which is usually what compliance-sensitive procurement teams need to sign off.

Because every course in a program is built on a shared design system with modular structure, a policy change is usually a template or screen edit rather than a rebuild. Up to 10% of updates requested within three months of rollout are completed free of charge. Beyond that, ongoing maintenance runs $500 to $1,000 depending on scope – or you can make the change yourself, since you hold the source files.

Delivery, Technology, and Global Rollout

Yes. We deliver SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI, cmi5, and AICC, which covers effectively every commercial and open-source platform. We test each course on your specific LMS before handover to confirm loading, tracking, scoring, and playback all behave correctly – not just on our own test environment.

Yes, and for a program it is the preferred route. We take your brand guidelines, component library, and tone of voice into the blueprint stage so every course in the curriculum inherits them. If you don’t have a design system for learning content, the first build produces one you keep.

We localise into 35+ languages, covering on-screen text, audio script, narration, proofing, and a fresh round of LMS testing for every language build. Localisation adapts examples, scenarios, units, and regulatory references rather than only translating the words – which matters most in compliance content, where the rules differ by region. Always localise from a signed-off master, never a draft, or you pay for every subsequent change once per language.

Yes. We use AI to accelerate drafting, narration, visuals, and video, which is part of how builds stay fast and prices stay fixed at this level. Every AI-assisted asset is reviewed by an instructional designer against your objectives and passes accessibility QA before it reaches a storyboard. Human voiceover talent is available on any tier if you prefer it.

Whatever you already have – PowerPoint decks, PDFs, policy documents, manuals, or webinar recordings. You don’t need polished scripts. We curate the material against your learning objectives, identify the gaps, and work directly with your SMEs to fill them. For a program, we also ask for your course roadmap so the blueprint is designed for everything on it, not just the first build.
