Articulate Storyline 360 + Rise 360 + AI Tools · Remote · Freelance / Project-Based · 2 to 5 Years · Rate: per project or per hour, based on scope

Role Overview
Design and build engaging digital learning experiences on a project basis for global clients. You’ll turn storyboards and raw content into interactive, learner-centric courses — taking each project from concept to a polished, ready-to-deliver course, on time and to spec.

Hands-on development in Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360 is the core of this role. We’re looking for a builder who can bring a storyboard to life with strong visual craft, interactivity, and accessibility baked in — and who uses AI tools to work faster without cutting corners on quality.

This is a remote, freelance / project-based engagement. Work is assigned per project, with compensation per project or per hour depending on scope.

Key Responsibilities

Develop interactive courses in Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360 — branching scenarios, knowledge checks, simulations, and gamified experiences.
Design graphics, animations, and multimedia; edit and integrate audio, video, and visuals on brand.
Use AI tools (ElevenLabs voiceovers, AI image generation, rapid prototyping) to speed up production.
Run QA across devices and browsers, and implement WCAG 2.1 AA (captions, transcripts, keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, contrast, alt text).
Manage your scope independently, meet milestones, and deliver source and final files as specified.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

On-Time Delivery Rate — by the agreed deadline. Target: 95% or higher.
First-Pass Quality / Revision Cycles — before sign-off. Target: 2 rounds or fewer.
Post-Handoff Defect Rate — bugs found after delivery. Target: fewer than 2 per course.
Cross-Device and Browser Compatibility. Target: 100%.
Accessibility Compliance (WCAG 2.1 AA). Target: 100%.
Client / Stakeholder Satisfaction (CSAT). Target: 4.5 / 5 or higher.
Development Turnaround vs estimate. Target: within estimate.
Feedback Responsiveness. Target: within 1 business day.
Repeat Engagement Rate. Target: a consistent pipeline.

Required (Must-Have)

2 to 5 years of e-learning development experience, with a portfolio.
Strong, hands-on expertise with Articulate Storyline 360 AND Rise 360 (mandatory).
Comfort using AI tools such as ElevenLabs in the workflow.
Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar; basic video editing.
Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA.
Degree in Instructional Design, Digital Media, Multimedia, Education Technology, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent portfolio experience.

Nice to Have

Experience building advanced Storyline interactions (variables, triggers, JavaScript, custom navigation).
Familiarity with SCORM / xAPI and publishing/testing on an LMS.
Motion or animation skills (After Effects or similar) and stronger audio/video editing.
Experience collaborating with instructional designers, narrators, and media teams on shared projects.
A portfolio showing accessibility-first builds, not just retrofitted compliance.

Tools & Technologies

Authoring: Articulate Storyline 360, Rise 360 (Articulate 360).
AI / production: ElevenLabs, AI image generation, rapid-prototyping tools.
Design & media: Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar; basic video editing.
Standards: WCAG 2.1 AA, brand guidelines, style guides, and signed-off storyboards provided per project.

ADDIE + SAM · WBT / ILT / VILT · Remote · Freelance / Project-Based · 2+ Years · Rate: per project or hourly

Role Overview
Design and develop outcome-driven learning solutions for Web-Based, Instructor-Led, and Virtual Instructor-Led Training. You’ll turn client content and SME input into clear learning objectives, well-structured storyboards, and effective assessments — on brand and on time.

Storyboarding is at the center of this role. We’re looking for someone who can translate a strategy and a set of objectives into a screen-by-screen storyboard that a developer, narrator, and client can all read and act on without guesswork.

This is a remote, freelance / project-based engagement. Work is assigned per project, with compensation per project or hourly depending on scope.

What You’ll Do

Apply ADDIE and SAM to plan, prototype, and iterate on learning solutions and proofs of concept (POCs).
Create strategy documents, measurable learning objectives, and content outlines from client-supplied material and SME interviews.
Develop detailed storyboards — screen-by-screen layouts, on-screen text, conversational narration scripts, interaction and navigation notes, media/graphic direction, and assessment mapping — with strong visual design sensibility.
Design effective assessments (knowledge checks, scenario/branching questions, and summative assessments) directly mapped to learning objectives.
Build or specify interactions in an authoring tool (e.g., Articulate Storyline / Rise) or hand off storyboards clean enough for a developer to build from.
QA your own solutions against client requirements and signed-off designs before submission.
Communicate clearly with clients, SMEs, and the internal team; manage multiple deliverables and hit deadlines with minimal supervision.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

On-Time Delivery Rate. Target: 95% or higher.
First-Pass QA Acceptance. Target: 85% or higher.
Revision Cycles per Deliverable. Target: 2 or fewer.
Client Satisfaction (CSAT). Target: 4.5 / 5 or higher.
Objective Alignment — screens/assessments mapped to objectives. Target: 100%.
Design Standards Adherence. Target: 95% or higher.
Estimation Accuracy — actual vs estimated effort. Target: within plus or minus 10%.
Defect Density after sign-off. Target: 3 or fewer minor, 0 critical.

What You Bring

2+ years of hands-on instructional design experience.
Working knowledge of ADDIE and SAM, applied in real projects (not just theory).
Strong grounding in instructional design theory — chunking, parallelism, cognitive load, and objective-driven design.
Proven storyboard design — a portfolio that shows clear, developer-ready storyboards with visual design, narration, interactions, and assessments.
Expert PowerPoint and Word (our storyboards and design documents typically live in these tools).
Working knowledge of an authoring tool such as Articulate Storyline — familiar with the Articulate 360 suite (Storyline and/or Rise) and comfortable building or specifying interactions and assessments.
Strong written and verbal communication, especially for narration scripts and client/SME collaboration.
A self-managed, reliable approach suited to remote freelance work.

Nice to Have

Experience authoring and publishing in Articulate Rise 360 and Storyline 360 (variables, triggers, branching scenarios).
Familiarity with VILT facilitation materials and ILT leader/participant guides.
Exposure to SCORM / xAPI and publishing to an LMS.
Basic media skills — image editing, simple audio cleanup, or working with a voiceover/media team.
Experience writing scenario-based and branching assessments.

Tools & Technologies

Authoring: Articulate Storyline / Rise (Articulate 360).
Storyboarding & documents: Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word.
Collaboration: email, video calls, and shared drives for client/SME/team communication.
Standards: brand guidelines, style guides, and signed-off design documents provided per project.

Articulate Storyline 360 + Rise 360 QA · WCAG 2.1 AA · SCORM / xAPI / LMS · Remote · Freelance / Project-Based · 2 to 5 Years · Rate: per project or per hour, based on scope

Role Overview
Be the final quality gate before a course reaches the client. You’ll take completed builds and put them through rigorous functional, accessibility, content, and LMS testing — catching defects before they ship, not after. Your job is to make sure every interaction fires correctly, every learner (including those using assistive technology) can complete the course, and every deliverable matches the signed-off storyboard and brand standards.

This is hands-on QA of digital learning built in Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360. We’re looking for a detail-obsessed analyst who can reproduce and document issues clearly, verify fixes without letting regressions slip through, and give developers and instructional designers feedback they can act on immediately.

This is a remote, freelance / project-based engagement. Work is assigned per project, with compensation per project or per hour depending on scope.

Key Responsibilities

Run full functional QA on Storyline 360 and Rise 360 courses — triggers, variables, branching scenarios, navigation, knowledge checks, simulations, and quiz-scoring logic.
Test published SCORM, xAPI, and AICC packages on the LMS to confirm launch, completion, bookmarking, and score tracking report correctly.
Verify WCAG 2.1 AA / Section 508 compliance — keyboard navigation, focus order, screen-reader behavior, color contrast, captions, transcripts, and alt text.
Test across the agreed device and browser matrix and confirm responsive behavior.
Perform content and instructional QA — proofreading, grammar, style-guide and brand adherence, module/lesson sequencing and labeling, and build-vs-storyboard accuracy.
Check media quality — audio/video sync, caption accuracy, and on-brand visuals.
Log clear, reproducible defects with steps, screenshots/recordings, severity, and root-cause notes; run retest and regression cycles and confirm fixes before sign-off.
Maintain and apply QA checklists and standards, and give developers and instructional designers actionable feedback.

What You’ll Review (Course QA Checklist)
Every course is put through a structured, repeatable review across the following dimensions:

Content & instructional accuracy — is the course accurate, on-objective, and true to the source material and SME sign-off?
Text, grammar & spelling — no typos or spelling errors; consistent voice and verb tense; clear, precise wording.
Visual design — buttons and hyperlinks look and behave consistently (matching hover/visited states), and the course looks professional and on-brand.
Functionality & navigation — triggers, variables, and branching behave as designed; Previous/Next go to the right slides; no Previous button on the first slide; menu, player, resources, and quiz options are set correctly.
Packaging & LMS — SCORM / xAPI / AICC package launches and tracks completion, bookmarking, and scores correctly on the LMS.
Accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) — verified with automated checkers as a first pass and manual assistive-tech testing to confirm real usability.
Learner / usability — a final pass viewing the course as a learner would, catching anything confusing or broken that specs don’t reveal.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Defect Escape Rate — bugs found by the client after handoff. Target: fewer than 2 per course.
Pre-Release Defect Detection — issues caught before sign-off. Target: 95% or higher.
Test Coverage — slides, interactions, and requirements tested. Target: 100%.
Accessibility Compliance — verified against WCAG 2.1 AA. Target: 100%.
Cross-Device and Browser Coverage — of the agreed test matrix. Target: 100%.
LMS / Tracking Verification — SCORM / xAPI reporting confirmed. Target: 100%.
Defect Report Quality — logged issues devs can reproduce without clarification. Target: 95% or higher.
Regression Pass Rate — fixes confirmed on first retest, no reopen. Target: 95% or higher.
On-Time QA Sign-Off — by the agreed deadline. Target: 95% or higher.
Client / Stakeholder Satisfaction (CSAT) — satisfaction rating per project. Target: 4.5 / 5 or higher.
Feedback Responsiveness — turnaround on client / team messages. Target: within 1 business day.

Required (Must-Have)

2 to 5 years of QA experience with e-learning or digital courseware.
Hands-on testing experience with Articulate Storyline 360 AND Rise 360 (mandatory).
Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA and how to verify it (keyboard, screen reader, contrast, captions, alt text).
Experience testing SCORM / xAPI packages and publishing / testing on an LMS.
Strong defect-logging discipline with an issue-tracking or review tool (Review 360, zipBoard, Jira, or similar).
Excellent attention to detail and clear written communication.
Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Multimedia, Computer Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field — or equivalent portfolio / testing experience.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with Storyline internals (variables, triggers, JavaScript) to diagnose why an interaction fails, not just that it fails.
Experience testing with assistive technology (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver).
Basic media QA skills — spotting audio/video sync and caption-timing issues.
Experience writing or maintaining QA checklists and test plans.
Familiarity with multiple LMS / LXP environments and their quirks.
A background that blends instructional-design awareness with technical testing.

Tools & Technologies

Authoring under test: Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360 (Articulate 360).
Accessibility (automated checkers): Storyline 360’s built-in Accessibility Checker, WAVE (WebAIM), axe DevTools (Deque), Google Lighthouse, and Accessibility Insights — used as a first-pass scan.
Accessibility (manual & assistive tech): keyboard-only navigation; screen readers — NVDA, JAWS, Narrator (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS / iOS), TalkBack (Android); color-contrast checkers.
LMS & packaging: SCORM Cloud and a client LMS test instance; SCORM, xAPI, AICC.
Review & defect tracking: Review 360, zipBoard, Jira, or a structured QA tracker.
Cross-browser / device: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari; real devices plus BrowserStack or LambdaTest for the agreed matrix.
Standards & inputs: WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, brand guidelines, style guides, and signed-off storyboards provided per project.
